Excited to be off to London today for the Small Business Saturday  event in our old stomping ground, Farringdon. It will be great to finally meet the other 100 nominees from all over the UK and we’re also keen to hear from Michelle Ovens MBE, a founder of Small Business Saturday, and an experienced businesswoman who has a wealth of experience to learn from.

We love going back to London – it’s where we lived for over 20 years, where one of our children was born (the other one’s Cornish, just to mix it up a bit) and spending time in this vibrant, exciting, chaotic city is always invigorating. Taking the bike this time – the cheapest and quickest way to get round London by far. And especially excited to have booked tickets to see Blade Runner 2049  on its day of release. The original 1982 version is one of our all-time favourite films, so we can’t wait to see the new one.

Straight off the train from London on Friday it’s down to the Bedruthan Steps Hotel to set up for Mid Century and Vintage Fair where we’ll be on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th October 10am-4pm.

And then on Monday, it’s our very own SmallBiz Day. Each of the hundred businesses nominated has a special day dedicated to them – for us it’s Monday 9th October. To celebrate we’ll be launching a one-off special Vintage Guide to Cornwall. Running a vintage lighting shop in Cornwall means we often get asked if we know about other sources of vintage furniture and interiors. So to help our customers old and new, we’ll be providing a rundown of the Cornwall’s favourite vintage shops that we’ve enjoyed browsing over the years.

If you’d like to find out more there’s a sign-up form in this website’s footer, to join our Loyalty Club. We email a newsletter only when we have major news and always add an exclusive discount offer. Let us know if we’ve included your favourite shop or if there’s one we’ve missed!  We’ll be providing further guides over the coming months.
