We brought over two ships’ bells recently, this one and the slightly larger Glory Star 1986 bell, as we’re regularly asked for them.
This one stands out not only for its polished finish but for the inscription incorporating some lovely Japanese script. And for its amazing ring, which resonates for quite some time.
The Sanko Amaryllis is a bulk carrier that was built in 1984 in Onomichi, Japan (hence the script). There are plenty of images of the vessel on the internet, including this one of it docked in Barcelona, in 2011 when it was named the Lord Nelson.
Dimensions: 27 cm high, 29 cm diameter.
