Happy New Year to all our customers, and what a busy January we have coming up…

We kicked off the year in (chilly) style, taking a dip for New Year’s Day on Readymoney Beach, organised by the wonderful Readymoney Beach Shop. Over £1,000 was raised for three fabulous causes: Beth’s InspirationMS Society UK and Fowey Gallants Sailing Club Tuition

We’re thrilled to announce we’ve been shortlisted for a Federation of Small Businesses award. You can ask the FSB about any aspect of setting up a business and their support and advice has been invaluable. The area final is in Somerset and if we get through this round we’ll be off to the finals in London. Fingers crossed!

Tomorrow we’ll be at the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce Connected Lunch in the gorgeous surroundings of Fowey Hall Hotel. This monthly lunch is one of many events organised by the Chamber, and its always good to catch up with other businesses in Cornwall. Along with a couple of other speakers, we’ll be telling guests  our story so far with Any Old Lights.

Next week we’re also meeting with Fowey Chamber of Commerce – as Love Fowey we helped with the Fowey Christmas Market and we hope to get more involved this year. There’s lots  of challenges facing Cornish villages in the winter – Cornwall’s not just for Christmas! – and we always encourage visitors to come down when it’s less hectic.

On Friday 26th January, we’re at the new and exciting South West Creatives Trade Show, curated by second year interior design students from Plymouth College of Art. We’ll be exhibiting our lights for suppliers, designers, and architects in the stunning Ocean Studios in Royal William Yard with a wide selection of fabric, lighting, wall coverings and more. Free to attend and open to all.

This follows on from our design competition with interior design students from Falmouth University, which will be unveiled later this year. A brand new original light from up and coming talent in Cornwall.

We also have some exciting news regarding our shop in Fowey. We can’t say much more until we’ve signed on the dotted line but the suspense is killing us!

Added to all that later in the year we’re moving our storage facility from Par to Fowey.

Plenty of changes coming up – bring it on 2018!
